~*Just what it says. What shows do you think were hurt or helped?
I think Dirty,Sexy, Money was helped because it was doing okay in the ratings but not fantastic. I also think Eli Stone was a s well. I think under a normal
season it would have been cancelled which would have sucked for us fans!
Heroes too was helped. They had a less than stellar sophomore season and this break really gave the writers a chance to fix all the mistakes they made plus I
think viewers may return for a fresh start in the fall.
I think Grey's Anatomy was hurt. This is a show that really needs a full season because of how complex the characters are. We never got a chance to really
get to know Hahn over a full season so she never felt like a regular character. Cristina was supposed to get a love interest in Joshua Jackson but his
character was squashed because of time constraints.A love interest would have been a good way to help Cristina move on from Burke even if it was a fling.
CSI was also hurt. They had wanted to go into detail more with Warrick and they never had a chance.
LOST fans were helped because we now get an extra ep added to the last two seasons so yay us!!!

I'm worried that the shows that have no new eps to air after the strike will be hurt, ex., Pushing Daisies and Private Practice.

I'm a little worried about Pushing Daisies losing its momentum too. Maybe they'll do a 1st season rerun over the summer to remind people of the show
and to hook new viewers.

i get what she meant. i don't think pushing daisies was hurt because if they had a full season they may not have been renewed. i read somewhere that bubble shows were given a second chance because of lack of pilots.

Freshman shows were given a second chance (as already mentioned Dirty, Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone etc..) because of the lack of time to prepair for
possible new series. I think most seasoned shows ending up losing several million viewers once the stike ended and new ep's began airing again. I for one
stopped caring about Reaper, had the stike been averted, I might have not lost interest.
I think one show that was actually helped by the stike was the original Law and Order. Last season it wasen't even in the top 20 and delegated to Friday Night, and now it's getting like 12 million viewers because their really wasen't anything else to watch a few months ago. I even started tuning in again (although that had something to do with Jeremy Sisto joining the cast) |

I don't really watch Law & Order so I hadn't realized how much it helped them. But I do agree that it hurt quite a few shows. People I think
started watching other shows and lost interest a bit in the storylines of some favorites.

In an interview Lee Pace said the network is planning a big promotional blow out for Pushing Daisies, in the same way they did for the first season premiere

That's good news - I think they're definitely going to have a niche audience anyway so folks who gave them a shot in the first place should have no
problem coming back again.
There was a show basically no one was watching except me - Life on NBC - and I think it was definietely saved by the strike. I loved it but could not find another soul who had even heard of it. Regardless of the situation I really don't understand why Prison Break made it again!! I agree Heroes was probably saved by the chance to regroup.

For me, Moonlight is the biggest loser. In the last few episodes, we were entering the Vampires's World. They never got the chance to show us more. And the
series is not cancelled. I think they would have had a better chance if they had a full season, and without a big break.
No show was helped in my point of view. I personally would have liked to see more Medium this season. The season was really too short because of the strike. Also, it almost costs us a Battlestar Galactica last FULL season. It would have been a big lost. Now, since they will show us the other part of this last season next year, maybe we will be grace with a few extra episodes that was not planned at the first place.

Oh, I forgot one that was seriously hurt - The Riches. I don't know how much better it would have been but the season was much too short to explore the
complex storyline they started with. It definitely felt abrupt and it suffered because of that.
Rescue Me won't come back until next summer and I have to wonder how many fans will be motivated enough to stick with it after a 2 year break.

Sci-Fi had already announce that the final season would be split between 2008 and 2009 long before the strike happened. That was Sci-Fi's idea. A way to stretch it out as long as possible. A way to milk it as long as they could. |

Synn ~ I didn't catch the March thing, but I would actually be happier for summer since that's my viewing dry spell
 I know, I know - I'm not easy to please! I did love the fact Jon Stewart
was giving him so much crap about the mini-sodes; that seems like a terrible idea to me...
Eli Stone is a really good show - it should have been renewed anyway, but I agree the strike was probably the reason it's getting another chance.

For me, the strike made me lose any lingering interested in "Moonlight." I was on the fence about it to begin with. I felt it was very uneven from ep
to ep, but after the strike, I tried watching the show twice and pretty much didn't like it at all.
